Agile Rails Developer

We're looking for a talented, self-motivated, flexible web developer to assist with the various projects we are working on. We are a small, well-established software development company that specializes in web applications, primarily for startups and entrepreneurs.

Work will be with a small, high-energy team on fast-moving projects. Web development skills are crucial, as well as flexibility to work on projects with varying demands.

Much of our work is on the cutting edge of Web 2.0, with plenty of exciting chances to learn new skills with the latest technologies (for instance, we have several iPhone-related development projects that involve web technologies).

Skills necessary:

• HTML and CSS
• Ruby on Rails
• Javascript and AJAX
• Unit testing and MVC
• Enthusiastic about new web technologies

In addition, the following skills are a definite plus:

• Javascript UI libraries (especially YUI and prototype)
• Java, Perl, Python
• JSON, SOAP, REST
• Familiarity with Agile development
• Standards-compliant XHTML and design skills
• MySQL (views, triggers, replication, etc)

This is a unique opportunity, with plenty of room for input in current and future projects, choosing what contracts to work on, learning new technologies, and improving your skills. We work very quickly with multiple clients, so ability to prioritize is a necessity.
